During the period of 1986-2022 (36 years), a total of 3.40 million people (34 lakhs 5 thousand 295) have received eye health care services (OPD services) through the Eye Health Program-Rapti & Bahadurgunj. Among these numbers, 488,211 (four lakh eighty eight thousand two hundred eleven) received free eye care (OPD service) service.
A total of 212,613 (2 lakh 12 thousand 613) cataract surgeries were performed during this 36-year period. Among these numbers, 41,127 surgeries were performed in free surgical eye camps.
From 1986 to 2020 (34 years), 2,984,294 have got eye care service (OPD service) by Eye Health Program-Rapti & Bahadurgunj. Out of these numbers, 436,094 have got free eye care service (OPD service)
During this 34 years period, 188,491 have got new vision after cataract surgery. Out of these numbers, 36,828 surgeries are free in eye camp.
PREVELANCE OF BLINDNESS IN RAPTI (OUT COMES)
The prevalence of blindness in Rapti was 0.87% in 1980/81, which is reduced to 0.13% in second survey of 2010. If we look at the distribution of blindness, Rapti Zone has 2nd less blindness Zone among other Zone.
