Eye Health Program-Rapti & Bahadurgunj

Rapti Eye Hospital is a non-profit making, non-governmental, welfare oriented social organization situated at Rakchha Chaur, Tulsipur in Dang district of Nepal. It was established in 1986 with the support of ‘Norwegian Church Aid’ (NCA) under the umbrella of ‘Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh’ (NNJS), which was later supported by ‘The Norwegian Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted’ (NABP) since 1998. It has been providing curative, preventive and promotive eye health service in five districts of Rapti Zone (Dang, Salyan, Rukum, Rolpa and Pyuthan) and one district of Kapilvastu, (Rupandehi); two hospitals in Dang, namely Rapti Eye Hospital & Lamahi Eye Hospital (it was inaugurated as full fledge eye hospital in 2014), one hospital in Bahadurgunj, Kapilvastu namely Chhanda (Kale Babu) Narayani Eye Hospital (It was established in December 2004), four eye care centres each in Ghorahi (established in 1989), Salyan (established in 2007), Rukum (established in 2011) and Rolpa (established in 2016) one weekly clinic in Koilabas, and one referral centre in Krishnanagar. To streamline the hospitals, eye care centres and referral centre for common goal and objective, Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh has recognized Eye Health Program-Ratpi and Bahadugunj as a group governing body.
